We all have hopes and dreams in life, don’t we?
Some of us have a vision for the world and others want to enjoy life to the full.
Whatever our motivation in life we need to be healthy to achieve it.
Health is a many layered thing, rather like a trifle. When you mix the layers together you get a really good feeling – the same with health. If my body is beautifully honed and healthy, but my mind is stressed and anxious and I’m living on my nerves, I won’t be happy and eventually this will have a noticeable effect my body. I emphasise noticeable because stress is already having an effect on my body and my ability to fight disease, even though I may not be aware of it. It is therefore not enough to focus just on my body to achieve optimum health.
Holistic health means achieving wholeness by ensuring all our fascinating layers work effectively together – Body, Mind and Spirit (or Soul).
I have found that meditation is one of the most effective ways of energising all levels of my being. It is significant that we are called Human Beings – both the Human (body) and the Being (Mind and Spirit) work together synergistically and symbiotically to create a fully rounded, healthy and whole individual.
One part of us cannot be healthy without the health of the other parts; just as we need vitamins and minerals to ensure the full function of our endocrine glands, which in turn ensure the full function of our organs; when Body, Mind and Soul are nurtured the result is radiant health and happiness. Happiness is one of the core qualities of the soul, as are peace, power, wisdom and love, so when the soul, or spirit, is regularly nurtured through meditation, our core qualities shine through, increasing our subtle attraction and our ability to excel in whatever we choose to do.
At Diamond Life Holistic Centre we offer FREE meditation sessions as a community Service on a Thursday evening at 7pm. Call 01493 719424 to book. See you there – Monica.
